Extensions of Yourself Again Passes Salon Inspection

As part of keeping your license, stylists are required to complete continuing education courses in order to demonstrate that they keep current with styling trends as well as requirements within the industry. But did you know that salons, too, must demonstrate that they meet a separate set of requirements?

In fact, the salon itself must hold its own license, and each of the individual stylists must hold their own personal license. Salon licenses must be renewed and kept current. Stylist licenses must also be current, and in the State where they provide services. Stylists cannot provide services under the salon's license, or the license of another stylist. Both the salon and your stylist should have licenses displayed.

We believe it's a good thing that licensing boards oversee the industry to ensure that stylists are practicing in a manner that is safe for their clients. Without the requirements, too many could cut corners when it comes to sanitation and your safety. Whether your stylist practices in a big fancy salon, a mobile service, or in a home salon, both the stylist and the physical place they do services needs to be licensed. Don't be afraid to ask to see your stylist's license if it is not prominently displayed.

As part of the licensing process, salon's are subject to unannounced inspections at least once every two years, and more frequently if the salon has had any violations.

Extensions of Yourself is proud to announce that we have had our salon inspection and passed with flying colors! We have demonstrated that we provide all the required elements for safety, licensing and sanitation. And, we're proud of our record of no violations.
